Parts of their conversation are very pertinent to this very audio archive...the preservation of memory in digital format. These archives totally rock, especially since I couldn't make it in time for the seminar. Thanks Arlo! You are doing the history of American literature a HUGE favor - which I'm sure will be even more appreciated in the future.

Enjoyed this discussion very much. Paul Auster is one of my most favorite writers, and I will now look for Siri's work, too. This is a wonderful resource!

How about the poet Rosanna Warren? She has a new array of books....all very well received. She writes for Little Star (new Journal Magazine) and her father was the great poet:
Robert Penn Warren
She is currently working on a book about Max Jacob, the poet that shared a studio with Picasso in France
Whom ever you pick for the poets....everything you do is over the top!
Thank you!

My parents bought James Herlihy's childhood Detroit home from his mother and father in 1956. I was a 12 year old budding writer (mostly intensely weepy poems about unrequited love) and inherited the bedroom that had been his. My sister got the bedroom that had been his brothers'. He wasn't yet a famous author but I remember being quite awed a few years later when I realized who had written Blue Denim and Midnight Cowboy. His parents visited with my mom and dad quite often over the years. I guess maybe they wanted to see their old home again. The house is gone now--vandalized many years ago and finally torn down. Wish I could have met James. His parents were very nice people.
