Key West Literary Seminar

Letter From A Seminar Guest

| |
Judy Blue Signs smaller.jpgFrom Seminar attendee Betty Darst: "Judy Blume signed this book that I had purchased for the students at Warder Park Elementary School in Springfield, Ohio. I learned upon arriving home that the fourth grade was reading Blubber as their class project.  I made an enlargement of this photo and took it with the book to the school.  It was after school when I left, and I asked the staff why there were so many youngsters in the office.  The reply was that the parents forgot to get them after school.  The library staff has thanked me twice for sharing this photo and the personalized book--this is a school that needs nice things to happen. Thanks to your committee for sharing the New Voices.  Sincerely,  Betty."

The journal of the Key West Literary Seminar features recordings from our audio archives, exclusive interviews, essays, news about the Seminar, and dispatches from Key West's literary past and present. It is created by Arlo Haskell. Send email to arlo [at] kwls [dot] org

Each January, we explore a different literary theme through lectures, panel presentations, readings, informal gatherings, and discussions. In January 2011, we explore food in literature with our 29th annual Seminar, THE HUNGRY MUSE.
