Hanns Ebenstein's Peacon Lane home was an idiosyncratic live-in library. His collection of travel literature, now at Florida Atlantic University, was downstairs next to the office where he ran his travel agency and wrote his books, including Egypt in My Blood. This second-floor library contained classics of literature like Honoré de Balzac, Oscar Wilde, and a well-worn set of Marcel Proust's Remembrance of Things Past.
