Hanns Ebenstein's Peacon Lane home was an idiosyncratic live-in library. His collection of travel literature, now at Florida Atlantic University, was downstairs next to the office where he wrote Egypt in my Blood. These second-floor shelves held literary classics including a well-worn set of Marcel Proust's Remembrance of Things Past.
