The short movies Tarpon and All That is Sacred showing at the Tropic Cinema, 416 Eaton St. The films recall the wild literary scene of Key West in the 1970s and debuted at Telluride Film Festival. Tonight’s showing includes a conversation with Captain Will Benson and Arlo Haskell. (Films are also playing throughout the week, more info here).

“Bookleggers” at the Elizabeth Bishop House, 624 White St. Peruse (and buy) Florida-themed rare and used books at this historic site. In partnership with Bookleggers, a nonprofit mobile library based in Miami.

Keynote & Gala Reception of the 41st annual Seminar – Florida, The State We’re In. Workshops students may purchase tickets for Jeff VanderMeer’s talk and enjoy cocktails and appetizers afterwards (see email).
